The Ministry of Trade (Kemendag) said the use of Bonded Logistics Center (PLB) to become a regional hub-logistics is currently considered low. Trade Minister Enggartiasto Lukita expects PLB to be a warehousing place for imported raw materials for industrial needs. It will encourage the socialization of the use of PLB for domestic businessmen.

Based on the data from the Directorate General of Customs and Excise of the Ministry of Finance, the average first-stage utilization rate of PLB period of March 2016 s.d. October 2017 reached 68 percent and in the second phase of the period October 2016 s.d. October 2017 of 32 percent. Currently there are 45 PLB in 76 locations in Indonesia. PLB is to become a warehouse of imported raw materials, such as automotive, defense, textiles, commodities, chemicals, heavy equipment, and small and medium industries.

The impetus for the utilization of the PLB in the near future also prioritizes improvements over existing shortcomings. Bonded Logistics Centers can be used as warehousing by importers and divert them from warehouses and logistics centers outside Indonesia.

Until the end of October 2017, the value of inventory stored in the PLB reached Rp 920 trillion. Recorded 500 suppliers, 107 international distributors, and 458 local distributors have used PLB. PLB's contribution to fiscal also shows an increase.
